Description:

In today's economy the demand for direct restorations has dramatically increased. Patients are demanding options which are more affordable, yet esthetic. Many new tooth colored restorative materials have been designed for optimized physical and optical qualities. However, no single material universally satisfies the needs of our patients. The astute clinician must be knowledgeable about all the available materials when treatment planning and understand the techniques necessary to produce consistent results.

Given ample time, moisture control, appropriate size, and a cooperative patient, excellent results can be achieved with composite restorations. Predictable class II restorations require specific skills and techniques to achieve reliable success. However, composite materials have limitations creating the need for alternative esthetic restorative materials suitable for use in less than ideal conditions. Glass Ionomer restorative materials can serve as a therapeutic restorative material, reducing post-operative sensitivity and potential recurrent decay. This course is an excellent way to update your skills in placing direct tooth-colored restorations.

Course Objectives:

- How to dramatically reduce post-operative sensitivity and achieve predictable and reliable Class II interproximal contacts.
- The latest information on the nano/hybrid low shrink composite resin materials will be presented.
- Learn how to select and place therapeutic glass ionomer restorations and how to reliably place long-lasting posterior composite restorations from an actively practicing dentist.
